Rooster_Ties Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Pretty good price, carpe diem... https://www.dustygroove.com/item/804792 Edited June 24, 2016 by Rooster_Ties Quote
jazzbo Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Good news for someone! Both the Japanese releases of that album sound great imo. Quote
JSngry Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 There are still peripheral options, including Tyrone Davis (not a bad option, either): https://www.dustygroove.com/browse.php?kwfilter=Tyrone+Washington&incl_oos=1&incl_cs=1&format=all Quote
felser Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Da Bastids do show an LP of it available for $12.99. Joe Chambers is just awesome on this! Quote
sidewinder Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) Remember picking up the Toshiba CD of this one at Tower Sunset Boulevard back in the day, at a very reasonable price. A very good session ! Both Joe Chambers and Woody Shaw play great - as does Kenny Barron. Anyone who likes Tyrone W. on 'The Jody Grind' will like this one. Edited June 24, 2016 by sidewinder Quote

Condition is listed as Very Good (with no +). In my experience with DG, the absence of that + coupled with the desirability of the item suggests that it's liable to be an artifact more than a listening record. And the cover will have tape and a split seam on the cover, it says so, and believe me, if they say that, they mean it. Still, turn down the treble, pump up the volume, and hey, party like it's 1969, in every way possible (including taping a quarter to the tone arm if you have to, to stop the skips). And enjoy having a full size, real-life copy of a great record for about 15 bucks. Not everybody will get that. Not even everybody who wants to will get that. If that's the worst thing that happens to you, hey, damn good day, imo! Quote

Larry Kart Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Bought a sealed LP copy last year to replace my beat-up original. Terrific music. Quote
JSngry Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Is that your beat-up original now on sale at DG? Quote

jazzbo Posted June 25, 2016 Report Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) There's a newer pressing LP out there, Scorpio maybe. I have one, bought new from DG. . . it sounds good. . . but doesn't sound like an original likely does. Probably made from one of the CDs. Edited June 25, 2016 by jazzbo Quote
