Disc 1.

Will probably dig the Chico Hamilton Mosaic set out a bit later on in response to that article in this month’s JJI. Interesting details of the ‘Strollers’ residency.

I vacillate about this date. At times I’ve played it and thought it as good as any Monk date. When I played it the other day it struck me as being quite  a bit of a mess. Still well worth hearing.

Try listening to it on a good old vinyl copy. My opinion went up too after that.

I also have mixed feelings towards the Mulligan/Monk album. I always thought about it as the odd one out among Monk's Riverside recordings.

That´s also the cover of Bills memories "Scenes from a jazz life: From Birdland to Broadway". Maybe you  know it, if not - read it. IMHO one of the best books about jazz ever written.

Buck Clayton Mosaic Jam Sessions - CD1. Perfect Bank Holiday listening.

Fabulous music, especially if listened to in small doses.
