I was positively surprised by the sound quality (but I only heard the first Antibes concert so far). Nice package, no regrets.

Thanks! A Mola Mola Makua preamp (from your country) and a Brinkmann Bardo deck. The amps are part of my speakers (Neumann KH 150). It's a whisky bottle, Glenfarclas 15 yrs, matured in sherry casks. A family-owned distillery in Speyside. By the way, I bought the portrait of Peter Brotzmann from a Melbourne photographer, Tobias Titz, who had the chance to take the portrait with a large format camera when Bro was visiting Melbourne. I like it a lot.

I might be wrong, but I think this is a mono recording. I am listening to it right now, pressing the mono button on my preamp makes no difference. Surprising for a 2023 recording. Great music nevertheless!

Sorry for the tiny size. I don't know how to post a picture in decent size given the < 100kB restriction.

This is sad news. No other artist meant as much to me as Peter Brötzmann. I will miss him dearly. RIP

Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra - Live at IUCC 6/24/79 2CD
Misterioso replied to T.D.'s topic in New Releases
I wasn't sure whether I should subscribe. Your arguments won me over. Plus the potential to save on postage with combined international shipping. Moderator, Would it make sense to combine this thread with the one for the first volume to just have a single thread for the whole PAPA series? -
Horace Tapscott Quintet - Unreleased 1969 Flying Dutchman Session
Misterioso replied to colinmce's topic in New Releases
The Horace Tapscott Quintet CD on the Mr Bongo label states "Licensed from Flying Dutchman Archives". I just read that Bob Thiele's son (Bob Thiele Jr.) is reviving the Flying Dutchman label. I wonder whether he owns the rights to the label's back catalog as well.
