Bob Marley & The Wailers "Exodus" (Island)        1977 .... another warm summer night in Vienna/Austria ....

Heat wave still ongoing in Austria? You did have some rain by now, right?

Aloha!

I was listening to XM Radio's "Real Jazz" channel in the car today and they were broadcasting "The Talk - Conversations with Christian" where he sits down and talks to Jazz artists.  On today's show (as he was interviewing Roy Hargrove),  he mentioned how an estimated 85 percent of all Jazz album purchases were from deceased artists.  Nothing wrong with that he stated, but he said we should remember to support contemporary living Jazz artists as well.  So I decided to listen to living artists this weekend.  No vintage Jazz icons.  New and/or living Jazz artists only.

First up;

Enough rain in the mountains, not so much in the east and the forecast here in Vienna is more than 34 degrees (aka 94) for most of the coming week ....

I got along with 'The soul of..." for years, but the O V Box is really the one to have.

He's one of the few soul singers every bit of who's work is extremely worthwhile.

You're right about the treasurous box set, nevertheless "The Soul Of ...." is a collector's item in its own right due to the mistakingly exclusion of him singing "Ace Of Spade" but instead featuring a fabulous version by the songwriter Melvin Carter .... so better keeping both 😎 ....
