The audio in the videos seems to come from a rather "noisy" LP. Has this ever been issued on CD? It is a nice album. (And "Song For My Father" is the very first track on the album if any one wishes to check it out.) Edited March 29, 2020 by duaneiac Quote

Beneath a vinyl copy also have a japanese CD (reissued by Universal Japan as MVCJ-19180 in 1999) .... believe there was no other reissue .... Quote
Justin V Posted March 29, 2020 Report Posted March 29, 2020 The Complete Verve Stuff Smith Sessions, Disc 2: At $40 due to a battered box, this delightful Mosaic is one of my all-time Mosaic bargains. Quote

HutchFan Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) Disc 8 - most cuts feature vocalist Lee Wiley I only have Discs 7 & 8 from this set. No box, no booklet. Stumbled across the orphaned CDs in junk store a few years ago. EDIT: Just did some poking around on discogs. Columbia originally issued eight of the Wiley cuts (with Bobby Hackett & Joe Bushkin) on the 10" album below: First released in April 1951. Always fun to dig up these sorts of things. duaneiac Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 Every single copy of this LP that I have ever seen in a used record store has had the hell played out of it. It's easy to see why. Quote

This is a great record. Somehow a 12 inch of it was at my family house. Not sure who bought, I think my sister who was hardly a hipster. Then again she bought me The Hawk in HiFi for my 12 birthday. Agree with you re: the Lee Wiley music. Very enjoyable. Quote
Justin V Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 I'm listening to the second half that isn't part of the incredible Chu Berry Mosaic. This is some hot Eldridge. Quote
