I know she is not a jazz singer, but one of the photos included in this CD's booklet is of her with Django and Stephane (and Bricktop) back in the 1930's, so I  figured she would certainly be more at home here than in the rock music thread.

His name was totally unfamiliar to me.  I wanted to check him out and saw this whole album available for streaming on Amazon Prime.  I almost never use Prime for streaming, due to the albums often being incomplete and having ample options in my own collection.

I added this to my collection this week to join the second volume.  Although the piano/recording quality is pretty wonky on the first session, it is a hoot and well worth acquiring.  'Night in Tunisia' is wild!

With the great frontline of Mitchell and Junior Cook. It's a bit on the souljazzy side, but there's also the outstanding Perception, by Mitchell and Chick Corea, who's the pianist here.
