Believe "On Tour" being the stronger effort ...

Formerly, I ever-so-slightly preferred Pumpkin's Delight -- but, after listening to them side-by-side a quite a bit lately, I find myself coming 'round to your point of view.  ;)

btw Buster Williams (!!) ....

Yes sir!  So true.  Both playing- AND composition-wise.  :tup

And Buster blends so well with Rouse...

I'm not sure my dachshund Fiona is a fan of this abstract intellectual jazz.

On toYusef Lateef "Lost in Sound" Charlie Parker/Solid Records Japan cd

This is more to her liking; she settled down into a nice nap.

I have a funny history with the LP version of this material. Back in the early 'seventies I bought a Chartlie Parker LP on Charlie Parker Records and was mystified at what I heard. . . tenor, that didn't sound like Bird, and stereo. . . .rather mysterious, I knew it wasn't Parker, but I liked it. In time I did some detective work and discovered that it was "Lost in Sound." I figured out it was Lateef first when I bought his two LP reissue set of Impulse material on ABC Records.

I knew Alex Malheiros must have something to do with Azymuth. And I looked it up, and actually, he was the bassist.

Yes. And here is another one by his daughter.

Sabrina Malheiros "Dreaming"

I could have been fooled into thinking that several of these tracks were performed by Monday Michiru. That's a good thing.

A Turrentine Blue Note morning:

For me, ZT's Blues is by far the best of these with In Memory Of coming in second. Another Story is a little lackluster (at least today).

My rating would be the just other way round ;-) ....
