Very disappointing. Works strike me as bland and mechanical. That may be because they were left in incomplete shape and were put together for performance by various would-be Skalkottas "experts." First time anything by NS has let me down this way.

From Dial there was no exclusive record out then, they usually were mixed in different series, or later on Spotlite there was annoying that there was a lot of "alternative takes" . I think the Savoy and Dials were the essential Bird to learn the style and the tunes, and I was happy when I got this 3 CD collection.
