Art Pepper “The Complete Maiden Voyage Recordings” Omnivore Records, disc 1 of 7

This was a gift and a very nice one. I’m facing late Pepper again. . . not my favorite period generally, but the complete sets on this set and the excellent sound are helping. I like the more mellow pieces here where Art has the time to blow gently.

Maria Schneider Orchestra - Allégresse (Enja). This is my favorite record from this band. I really enjoy the opening track, "Hang Gliding", especially for the feeling I get from listening to it... like I'm hang gliding.
