jazzbo Posted October 20, 2024 Report Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) Another very cool morning. . . with a bright moon. I wanted to sleep more but Fiona the dachshund had other plans. Starting off the day with the new cd from the daughter of two of my favorite musicians, Dora Morelenbaum. Her father and mother, Jacques and Paula were instrumental in so much of the Brazilian music I love. Nice, contemporary recording . . . more “MPB” than her parents’ musics but I’m enjoying it. And yes, Bud Brisbois! Come to think of it, that's why the album had infiltrated our band hall. We had a small but rabid devotees of people who did that type of thing, and was certainly one of the better! Oddly, or maybe not so oddly? this album isn't in Lord's discography. I was curious who played trombone on the instrumentals. It doesn't sound like Dick Shearer, but I guess it could be. On a somewhat different note, I'm still exploring the later recordings of this guy Quote
