Made a change in isolation on my vinyl playback chain and wanted to see what condition my condition is in. . . no better way to do so than to play my OG vinyl of Miles Davis “Bitches Brew,” record 1

The best LP to check you turntable's isolation is Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on the track "Comfortably Numb". :)

Spinning a classic this cold morning.....

Hope everyone is well.  Has the site been down sporadically?  I have checked in a few times lately and got 'down for maintenance' messages.

Re: M. Ferguson "Around the horn"  on  EmArCy/Merciry

Really good Bill Holman charts on this one.

Yep

It looks he did all  composing & the arrangements

The bandmembers read like a list of the cream of the west coast artists

The October 25, 1954 Monk Rollins session. Hard to believe that this was Sonny's last recording before he admitted himself to Lexington and didn't record as a leader again for two years.. For somebody whose life was in such deep disarray, his playing here is assured and deeply substantive. Perhaps credit for that goes to Monk?

No matter, it's such a rewarding set of music, Never get tired of it, and always get amazed by it.

I'd love to find this 10", even if it was just the cover:
