I know it's merely a typo, but funny. 🙂

NOT a tupo.

9 degrees. The old dog and this old dog really did not want to step outside. Was rewarded with the sight of four deer though.

Starting off with a release I’m trying again. Bob Belden “Black Dalia” Blue Note SACD

I’ve not been crazy about this release in the past. Found the SACD cheap and . . . well it sounds good, I guess I’m warming to the music a bit more. It resembles a soundtrack, and I’m not crazy about soundtracks. . . I’m trying to experience it in a different way.

Another Blue Note. . . this one the “Collector’s Choice” Blue Note issue that reissues the first US cd.

Andrew Hill “Black Fire”

This one and “Smoke Stack” rival each other as “my favorite” Hill. Whichever I am playing is my favorite!

Are you able to play the multichannel sector of the SACD layer? Bob told me that he put a lot of work into that multichannel mix and that he meant for it to be listened to that way.

I don't do surround sound. Never appealed to me. I seriously doubt that would change my reaction to this music. I'm aware of the work and intention. I just don't like film music, and this seems to be film music to me.

It is funny that I "typo'd" the word "typo."

He's a "trumpeter". I didn't notice that cut and paste typo, thought you were questioning the first name or such. Sorry. Doesn't seem funny to me. From the discogs page:

Jazz trumpet player and songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY, grandson of Chico O'Farrill, son of composer and pianist Arturo O'Farrill and pianist Alison Deane, brother of percussionist Zack O'Farrill.

Right now

Milt Jackson Sextet “Invitation” Riverside/OJC cd

Quite a band! And well played.

Bass – Ron Carter
Drums – Connie Kay.                                Piano – Tommy Flanagan
Tenor Saxophone – Jimmy Heath
Trumpet – Kenny Dorham
Vibraphone – Milt Jackson

Apologies, just a mess up with the quote facility which for some reason I couldn't delete

No need to apologize, just wondered. I'm fighting off a cold and not at my best yesterday and today.

Hope you feel better soon
