There was that run where a lot of M-Base players were showing up on non M-Base type records...I kept waiting for it to become a 60s Blue Note type scene but that never happened, for whatever reason. But IIRC, Don Sickler was shepherding that activity? Quote

Neither are the first or middle days (or Cobblestone before the label change). Fascinating label. So sorry Joel Dorn butchered the reissue program on 32Jazz (and Savoy did even worse) and that the catalog, IIRC, sits in Concord limbo at the moment. Quote
JSngry Posted April 10 Author Report Posted April 10 Pretty sure that Savoy Jazz was running/distributing Muse towards the end? Quote
jazzbo Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 A cold morning. Lucinda and I have an appointment for our taxes today. . . expecting to write a big check. Sigh. Starting off with the mostly composed pieces on “Mountains” by Micah Thomas. 300×300 34.1 KB Quote
jazzbo Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 I am having what turns out to be an interesting day. One happy thing is that we had our taxes done. . . and we lwe less than we thought we did, much less. Whew! Yeeha! And then the mail came. . . and there was a Claudia Acuna cd that I didn't think I had ordered. In fact there were two copies, one sealed, and one open with on the front cover "Lon Armstrong, Thank you for your support! Claudia Acuna" . . . . I looked and it was mailed by Claudia Acuna. I've looked through my purchase history and I can't see anywhere that I ordered that cd, although I did order a few other Acuna cds a month ago. A happy mystery! Thanks Ms Acuna! Quote
