That top record "Sastanak" looks amazing. Really, anything with Julius Watkins on it, I'm interested.

Same here!

Looks like a session made when the Quincy Jones band was scuffling on their ill-fated "Fancy Free" tour.

Don't know that I've ever seen a full list of all the records that came out of that, actually...

Something there is about Tom Harrell’s music that I keep reaching for it the last 12 months or so. Perhaps it’s because it is solidly a part of the tradition and yet also a personal distillation of the post-bop musical world. He’a a favorite of my best friend who is also a trumpeter and that I think also plays a part–we have listened to his music over the years together.

This is a nice one. . . a live recording that sounds great and has spirited playing by musicians who listen to each other and enjoy playing together–THAT you can feel in the music.

Meant to keep the Kenny fest going but wasn't looking and picked this gem instead, Dave and Kenny are brothers!? Thought they were cousins. Whatever the case, they're both awesome.

Back to Kenny. I still don't know how this became classic Kenny, it's alright, much prefer Introducing over this, but glad to have it, its nice on the ears.

Listening again, I really do like this record. I didn't realize what a treat it is to listen to Kenny. Arguably, my favorite guitarist.

Something different than my usual. I bought this after seeing her Austin City Limits performance and being very impressed.

I think I would have mixed and mastered this differently but I like this music. She’s exhibiting a bigger Prince influence than I noticed before, and man can she SING.

Immanuel Wilkins “Blues Blood” Blue Note cd

A different release than his first two on Blue Note, the first to include vocals. I love the sound of Wilkins’ alto, and his writing is always interesting.
