Reason why I love jazz. Grew up with this stuff in the 70's "feels so good" was on the radio all the time. I love Foreigner, Boston, and Kiss, just as much, but thanks especially to my Mom, grew up listening to George Benson, Chuck Mangione, and Spyro Gyra, too. Weird ass twist.

A warm, clear, dry morning. A great way to start the day is this nicely-recorded gently swinging session.

I forgot what a great album this is with that vibe that only Big Joe backed by Basie can really deliver so well.

Great band!

Is this good? Interesting line up

Yes, I like it very much.

And I'd say the same about Roditi's Two of Swords, which I posted earlier.

Deep masters of the dirge

Don't question that, Gil Evans is a modern day master and very much respect Helen Merrell. Just didn't dig the record.

What's the packaging look like inside? Original artwork like the outside box indicates?

Warne Marsh Ted Brown live in Hollywood 1957. Both on top form. Ted would be 97 now, haven’t seen any updates for a few years since there was a fund raiser for him. Hope he’s keeping OK.
