I think that one listen is enough, but it's been one helluva fun listen, and an abundance of Wild Jimmy Spruill adds to that!

Watts has that sound and speaks this language about as naturally as it has been spoken. It might be a relatively limited vocabulary, but that vocabulary can be used to speak a rich language, so there it is!

It's been a while since I played this - hope to get through it this weekend.

First thing I did when I got this was to burn it into individual session. Not that much work, and the additional lucidity gained was really worth it.

That's a pretty good start

I was trying to remember what my favourites were and I think this one is up there. I really do like this one. Again, there's the comparatively powerful rhythmic element.

Lots of very good duets with drummers in the catalogue.

I think I prefer his drummer-less recordings a bit (I'm not being deliberately contrarian today, I promise), it's his use of space to imply rhythm that I hear and enjoy in them. There's some really good duets with drummers nonetheless, Moholo-Moholo is a standout.

The FMPs with Kowald and Sommer might tickle your fancy

Prompted to play...

All of these look worth investigation. I'll get in there and get working.

My Matana is 4 / 200. Have a Ras Moshe that's pretty good & a couple of others.
