The Noah Haidu lacks all 3 of the things mentioned above. Buster Williams is the one saving grace, but is not (in my opinion), able to save this basically very dull album. Quote

My listening schedule has been morphing lately as with the passing of my dog I’ve been waking up later and my wife has been waking up earlier and I don’t now generally get to dive into listening first thing. Today we got to meet with one of Lucinda’s sisters and brother-in-law who live about 90 minutes away here locally for lunch, which was really nice. Lucinda’s sister Ann has been blind about 20 years and her husband Chris is the role model of a loving spouse and takes incredible care of her while also having a demanding job. I love these people. Now I’m finally in front of the main system. I started off with Keith Jarrett “New Vienna” ECM cd and moving on to Tom Harrell “Moving Picture” High Note cd Edited May 31 by jazzbo Quote

For some reason, Gene Roland's soprano playing reminds me of Lucky Thompson. And Kenton's obsession with not swinging in the traditional sense pays off here as Roland totally gets it. He sees both sides of this street clearly! When I pull my Kenton holdings, this one will definitely be staying! Quote
