Kurt Anderson Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Got to get up and walk the dog, but remain anchored to the chair by Booker T-inspired instrumentals from the New Mastersounds. Their new compilation Masterology is a good one, if a bit short on the slow, slinky numbers. Quote

Library music big band funk from what appears to have been the official orchestra of Austria's national broadcaster. I can't imagine the BBC putting out a cover like that. It is very good stuff though. Hot blooded. Quote

jazzbo Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 Whew it was a warm one last night. Finally got cool, down to 62 degrees, perfect up here in the listening area. This is an amazing reissue that arrived two days ago. The Plangent Process restoration is amazing–and blows away the Grundman direct transfer. I wish they had not included that one and had included a Plangent Process version of the MONO mix, I love the Mono mix. I thought I knew and loved this session–now it’s taken to a new level! Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto “Getz & Gilberto” Impex Records SACD 2025 Followed by another new arrival, “Enjoying the Ride,” the 60th Anniversary box set from the Grateful Dead. First concert I pulled out, Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT (3/14/81), disc 1 Quote

I'll see if it comes in. The place I ordered from is hit or miss, as their website is tied to their store inventory so if someone bought it yesterday before they pulled it for me, I won't get it. It's happened there before. Quote
