Decided to continue revisiting Kirk–the man was a fascinating artist til the end. This is one of his final three, when he moved to Warner Bros. His tenor sound is beautiful on some of these tracks!

Horace Silver Quintet “Silver’s Serenade” Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD636cc8bb15366d40b52d7b377cdc8ec657e7d4d0

Henry Red Allen and His Orchestra “1936-1937”

More Allen with his singing reminiscent of both Louis Armstrong, but with the vibrato phrasing of Louie Prima. And some hot trumpet!

Something different than Ms Walter's. . . and an album I've played for five decades now and I will NEVER tire of.

The title tune is one for the ages! The sound of this record was a revelation when it was new.
