Starting off with David Sanchez “Cultural Survival” Concord Picante cd

I love how Sanchez injects Latin elements into jazz without overpowering jazz elements.

I have the individual albums, but these sets (Smith, Silver, Grant Green) are beautifully done and very affordable.  I wish they had continued the series.

Francisco Mora Catlett “Mora/Mora 2” Far Out cd

Mexican-American percussionist from Detroit, a spiritual jazz player  who even performed with Sun Ra. Nice material with Kenny Cox on piano.
