Peter Friedman Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I hadn't played this one in many many years. I have to admit that I now did not really care for it. With one exception, all the tunes are originals that I found quite uninteresting.Lee Morgan does what he can with the tunes. Furthermore, the rhythm section sounds very uneasy with these tunes. Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb do sound good on Mack The Knife, the one tune not an original. I suspect I was more positive about this album when I first heard it in the early 60's. Now these many decades later, my taste has clearly changed. Quote
