Can you recommend the Joe Newman / Cootie Williams CD? I'm just listening to the Bill Coleman from that series, which is one of the most enjoyable albums I have heard in some time!

The Joe Newman / Cootie Williams CD is enjoyable, but not really one I could rave about. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, I would give it a 3.

Another great Pay Bley Trio recording from the 60`s .... the Black Lion CD has as bonus track "Blood" from "Live in Haarlem"  November 4th 1966 feat rather unsung bassplayer (and subsequently audio equipment great) Mark Levinson ....
