Thank you Brad for mentioning "Long Dring" and "4,5,6" since they are also my favourites from those Prestige albums of Jackie. The most interesting thing is really that "rough" but relaxed "Long Drink" with the really unusual tenor sax played by McLean. It has a quite "hollow" sound but is pure McLean from his phrasing. Curtis Fuller is also great. And on "4,5,6" the rare choice of "Sentimental Journey" a tune rarely picked by post war musicians, and the faster version of "When I fall in love"..... Quote

BTW, Duncan Reid found an interview with Airto where he stated that he and Tjader conceived the arrangements before the session, although George Duke/Dawili Gonga was credited for them. Now playing another rare Melvin Rhyne participation: Brad Leali – Priority Soul! - New Jazz Renaissance Recordings featuring Melvin Rhyne, Jimmy Cobb, and Peter Bernstein. My guess is that they're all Chicago musicians. https://originarts.com/oa2/recordings/recording.php?TitleID=22022 https://www.allaboutjazz.com/the-hook-up-oa2-records-review-by-dan-mcclenaghan.php Quote
