undergroundagent
I'm wondering what everyone thinks of Sweet Poppa Lou's material after "Blues Walk", but before "Here 'Tis". Fire away..."Lightfoot," "Time Is Right," "Sunny Side Up," "Gravy Train," etc.
Dmitry
I have no other word, but superb. Light-Foot The Time Is Right Wailing With Lou Sunny Side Up I love all the pre-funky albums.

connoisseur series500
Gravy Train smokes! I've only got "Gravy Train" and "Sunny Side Up." I prefer "Gravy Train," which is very good. Does "Lou Takes Off" fall into this chronological category? That one is good as well.
Eric
This stuff is great jazz. There is excitement and you don't feel compelled to "like it" simply because it is "innovative". Very solid. Eric

Brad
He's still under the Bird influence but finding his own voice. Don't get me wrong. I think these are very, very good and love them, as well as his sound. Don't forget LD + The Three Sounds. Excellent. I also love his Here Tis, organ stuff as well. They're different, that's all.
