Kim Deal: Nobody Loves You More

How do you like this one?  I'm tempted to pick it up, but haven't yet.

I kinda fell back in love with the Breeders after seeing them open for the Foo Fighters in Oct 2023.

Hard to believe she's 60+ years old. It's short - approx. 35 minutes. Ambitious music, maybe needed a little more "melody". Overall I like it.

Rush - Counterparts (Atlantic/Anthem, 1993)

Total RUSH fan. Saw them as a teenager in the 80's and was thrilled when they played the first half of 2112, then saw them again as an adult, playing their best from their entire catalogue chronologically.

RIP Neil Peart! My favorite rock drummer of all time, who learned to re-drum (like this dude needed to) under the influence of Buddy Rich. Amazing person (watched an interview, dude's very articulate and intellectually deep) amazing band!

Now playing The Police-Synchronicity-A&M. Awesome how Herb Alpert saw the importance of this band...another band I was so fortunate to see live too. They opened with "Message in a Bottle"!

Love the Breeders and a huge Pixies fan. Does this record have either vibe?

Some, but some is more "orchestral". Not a bad thing.

Thanks for the review, probably pass.

Earlier: New Order, Power, Corruption, and Lies, Quest

Now: RUSH, 2112, Mercury.

One of their most intense albums yet. Very tight at focused. I was really surprised. I thought the last live one (Tilburg) was kind of inconsistent.

Porcupine Tree: Closure/Continuation. Live. Amsterdam 07/11/22 [Blu-ray]

Ohh yeah!  What's your verdict on this one? I saw the first show on the tour in 2022 in Toronto, and loved it.  Was happy to see PT back together (well mostly - would've been nice if Colin Edwin had been involved, but whatever), but the show exceeded my expectations.

I've got my vinyl set out to spin over the next couple days.

At first it didn't do anything for me, but I recently checked it out again and changed my mind. One of their best live albums!

But 2 1/2 hours? Was their show that long?

It has the exact same setlist as the show I saw, so it must've been 2.5 as well lol.

I think if they had continued the band and touring, they'd probably cut back the number of tracks from the C/C album, and maybe replace them with other older songs.  But I'm guessing the show would still be roughly the same length.

On the other hand, I saw them twice in 2009-10 (Houston & Philly), and they played the full Incident album that time, just like the full C/C album in '22.  So who knows.

Wow - INTENSE!

I only saw them once. I think it might have been the Incident tour. Not my favorite album of theirs.
