tranemonk
I'm getting the sense this has not been released before. Is this blurb accurate? Anybody got any opinions on it? I'm inclined to get it since Importcds does have a cd version not just the vinyl. https://elusivedisc.com/nina-simone-youve-got-to-learn-lp/ https://www.importcds.com/nina-simone-youve-got-to-learn/602455644633

mikeweil
Received it today - it's great. She seems a bit more subdued than usual, but that only raises the intensity level. 33 minutes, standard for a Newport performance. For Simone fans, a must have. mikeweil
Contrary to the recent Coltrane "discovery", no info about the circumstances of the find. Sound is good, bass a bit too low in the mix, and the sound man took a few bars to open the vocal mic, but otherwise it's okay.

I do not know Bobby Hamilton, but the other two are solid.

Looking forward to this especially because of the set list. It really sucks that a lot of those Newport 60's records had short sets (in terms of length).
