"peameal" I just assumed from hearing it was spelled "pimiel" or thereabouts. Had to look it up to learn otherwise and to learn that it means exactly what it says!

Always managed to avoid it - although an old Scottish friend of mine ordered it in a Quebec restaurant during a dive trip there and apparently ordered a 'lady of the night' thanks to mispronunciation ! Much hilarity around the table with that one.

Not poutine related, but on the topic of different things you'll find in Canada vs the U.S. 

I was in Vancouver in 2022, and found Crystal Pepsi on the shelf of a convenience store.  I blinked about 3 times to make sure I was seeing correctly.  I remember it from the 1990's, but hadn't seen it since.  

It tasted exactly as I remember it, lol.
