I hear two pianos so I'm fairly confident Zita plays on this, one of two tracks she is on on Zoning.  The CD Zoning reissue had a different track length (3 seconds longer) than the LP.  I think this is that.

Astonishing that it seems she was born in 1943. She wrote a lengthy piece on John Coltrane in a 1959 issue of The Jazz Review, including several solo transcriptions (as well as the liner notes to 'Coltrane Jazz' in 1961).

That birthdate seems to be wrong, though still quite a life:

Larry Gushee told me about her. IIRC she did a lot of work with baseball statistics.

She could play absolutely anything. She was also a policeman. Zito was an absolutely amazing woman.

RIP. Her astute notes to Coltrane Jazz are my favourite liner notes on a Coltrane LP. Also one heck of a pianist.

I have the LP and it's definitely her, she's in the credits.
