Please provide feedback on the records AND the book. Will do. I'm a bit conflicted on the book right now. I really enjoyed reading it, and it added greatly to my understanding of Marsh and his music, but the author's take on such an intensely private person comes across as extremely subjective. I'll have to do a search and read others thoughts but I get the feeling that Chamberlain is positing a lot that isn't really supported by fact. I have no clue if his conjectures are correct or not, but I'm taking a lot of what he says with a big grain of salt. Quote

John B Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 That's exactly why I asked the question. AND the situation is further clouded by Out Of Nowhere. Is that the "fictional" biography? I've never come across it and haven't been compelled to search it out. Is it worth tracking down, taken for what it is? Quote

Trouble is I can't decide if the "case" is Marsh or the author. Quote

With my new status as a single male, I know I'll have to be introducing some unsuspecting woman into the world of jazz. I figure starting off with somethings like this might make the Sam Rivers stuff a little more palatable - someday Quote

Jazz Kat Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 I bought this at J&R today. While I was downtown, I decided to take the ferry to Staten Island and back to Manhattan. It was fun watching the Statue Of Liberty go by and grooving to The Jazztet live at Birdhouse. You like this album? Quote
