ejp626 Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Second day back in Chicago, so I stopped by Dusty Groove. I think I picked up the last copy of Clifford Jordan In the World and Harold Land's The Peace Maker. I also got Art Farmer's Art and Perception and Brass Shout/Aztec Suite. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Ahhh! THAT’S more like it! Some proper African stuff just turned up from Sterns! Looking forward to hearing these in a short while. “Ambiance ballon” appears to have a few tracks from his earlier football albums, plus new recordings praising the Guinean national team, Syli National. Superb! MG Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Managed to avoid the rain (but not the wind) on a quick shopping trip to Pontypridd and picked up This material is all 1927 and is some of the best preaching I've heard from Gates - and that's saying summat! MG Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Didn't buy anything today. Hope I don't buy anything in the morning. I'm a cd-aholic. Thankfully I have 14 discs in the pipeline. Quote
RDK Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Don't think I've bought anything since before X-mas. Went a little loco at the Tower sale and must have picked up close to 80 discs over a 2-3 week period. Needless to say, I've barely scratched the surface listening to them. I'm also broke... Quote

felser Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 (edited) Bought the new John Mellencamp at Best Buy on the way home from work. $9.99, includes a free exclusive Best Buy bonus CD with four alternate takes, and I had a gift card I could use. I love the song on the truck commercial, and AMG gave the CD an awesome review. He's been a favorite since 'Scarecrow', a Desert Island Disc (rock/pop category) for me.
