Continued my vacation shopping in Berkeley today (great city, ah, student memories).

Jimmy Lyons: The Box Set. Had this one before, but lost it (long story), absolutely wonderful music.

Paul Motian: Tethered Moon -- Plays Kurt Weill.

Paul Motian: On Broadway Vol. 4

Mal Waldron: The Quest

David Liebman & Marc Copland Duo: Bookends

Wiesendanger/Weber/Ulrich: We Concentrate

Berkeley was a wonderful place to be today.

Berkeley was a wonderful place to be today.

Take an hour and listen to "The Quest" a couple of times. :)

The rest will fade in the distance.

Yes, The Quest is a great album. I have certain misgivings about Ron Carter's cello playing, but they don't really detract from enjoyment...

Someone on another thread mentioned a "Free Shipping" offer at Newbury Comics' eBay store. There was a set of 51 candidate CDs, 10 purchases required for free shipping, 50% shipping discount for 5 purchases. The budget only allowed 5:

Jenkins / Jordan / Timmons

Randy Weston, Jazz a la Bohemia

Doug Watkins, Soulnik

Gigi Gryce, Saying Somethin'

Barney Kessel, Some Like it Hot

I'm staying at my parents house, and unfortunately, they don't have a cd player, so I'll have to wait for a couple of weeks to get to my home to listen to anything.

Just spent a few days concentrating on tidying up my hard drive - got rid of 4GB of junk! And while I was concentrating, two LPs turned up from Bert's E-bay shop (no images on the web and I can't be asked to scan them in)

Houston Person - Stolen sweets - Muse (glad to get this because my previous copy is unplayable)

Jimmy McGriff - The groover - JAM (never had this one before - some records just pass you by)
