Harbour Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Lots of interesting things this year, hopefully will see cds of some of them Joe Henderson Live at The Showcase 1978 & John Coltrane - The Tiberi Tapes: A Preview Of The Mythic Recordings stand out https://www.recordstoreday.co.uk/rsd-list Edited 2 hours ago by Harbour wrong forum, should be new releases Quote
clifford_thornton Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago The Annie Ross is pretty cool. Looks like the Cecil is from Paris and not Maeght (as I'd been told) and I will definitely pick it up despite my aversion to the liner note author. Quote
HutchFan Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I'm stoked about Buster Williams' Pinnacle. I have the album on a 32 Jazz CD, but -- given how much I love the music -- I'll probably plop for the vinyl anyway. Quote
felser Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Count me in for eventual CD releases of the Henderson (with Joanne Brackeen ❤️), the Ahmad Jamal Jazz Showcase, and the wonderful looking early live Terry Callier. The Jamal Oil Can Harry's is a really good record, and a rare instance to hear Calvin Keys. I have the Japanese CD already. Has that complete Coltrane in France been available before? I know the performance of "A Love Supreme" was on the expanded Impulse reissue. Edited 1 hour ago by felser Quote

This is certainly intriguing: This is part of Resonance's debut launch of releases from Joe Segal's Jazz Showcase archives, marking the beginning of what will hopefully be a long line of incredible releases from the club's archives. Here's hoping that the material from Jazz Showcase sells well enough to keep bringing out these releases! Quote
Dan Gould Posted 8 minutes ago Report Posted 8 minutes ago I am very intrigued by the possibilities implied by material from the Jazz Showcase but that debut selection ... it's very safe to say that 70s Henderson plus Joanne Brackeen is a long, long way from my wheelhouse. Are you with me, @Peter Friedman ? Quote

No idea if this set includes new material but the wording kind of suggests not. Quote
