  1. I think that's how they are marketed to the retail outlets.
  2. Shitload of 6 hr sessions here - budget dates without many chances for second takes. Best deal those guys could get at the time and they did the best they could - 'cept for rehearsals at their own expense. Paycheck time.
  3. Mosaic's deal with Uni is Mosaic produces the set and allows Uni "x number of sets" for sale through "regular" channels. That or nuthin'.
  4. Please consider that on his own, CC might not have a concept to bring off a date of his own by then. It's alway fun to look for bad guys, but sometimes the truth is more mundane.
  5. This was from the Verve website, so I suspect it's not a Mosaic. The recent Mosaic/Universal deal had each outfit selling some sets.
  6. I'm with Jazz Kat. Been trying to move files from an old windows 95 machine to my new device - shit be happnin' all over the place (files going AWOL, etc). I would explode if music was in the friggin' background. Music is for LISTENING.
  7. Sittin' In is a masterpiece and Sweets (with Ben Webster) is not far behind. Beyond that I am looking forward to the Al Cohn side.
  8. Somehow I missed this AOW post 'til now. It is an amazing group of recordings. Do we want to discuss the black/white conflicts implicit in this date? It is a huge question with resonance continuing today.
  9. Ringing endorsement from Mr Ties.
  10. As I said a while ago, "get out those credit cards"!
  11. You have my sympathy but look on the bright side - you can get "more" for around $250 now.
  12. Turd in the punchbowl time. The Cox dates should be shunted/offered to Water. They are not "first rate" and would not generate any profit, thus limiting "interesting" reissues in the future.
  13. It can't be too far from home. Start walkin'.
  14. My father used to have one. Not a problem to clean with soap and water. For more thorough jobs use stainless steel cleaner common in restaurants.
  15. The American Federation of Musicians is a "traditional" labor union which negotiates fees, work conditions and wages for its members. Their national website is HERE and it may help with some questions.
  16. Some confusion. A union card is issued to a member of the musicians union. An 802 card is issued to a union member belonging to union "branch" 802. A cabaret card was issued by the NYC police.
  17. One possibility not mentioned is that Lonehill "created" the longer take via editing. There may not be a single new note.
  18. Ah, he's just another small headed Hoosier. So, he's got a show. Big Deal. Thanks for a fine post and thanks for the intelligent selections.
  19. The Stash cd mentioned is a reissue of a Spotlite lp. Spotlite may have issued a cd in England.
  20. I still want to know about "ignorange". Do you have some secret way to remove this from the color spectrum? Or do you just hate Tennessee and some other teams?
  21. Is this some sort of affliction where you can't see colors?
  22. EVERYTHING. Now that you have the answer, go back to sleep. B-)
