  1. pretty freekin' amazing. wish I could flip the Mac sideways.
  2. heheh thanks! do let me know as I was just looking for the real deal ... I see it now commands obscene dollars for something that may have just gone out of print. Usually the regular verves stick around but someone at the pressing plant must have read your post.
  3. Been on a bit of a Lalo tip and was looking around for this twofer CD. Figured it would be one for the scrap pile but seems to have gone poof. trades? pm thanks. post 19
  4. amid all the choices of humanity at such events and that he has a beautiful woman blowing bubbles from the front row speaks something of the guy's ability to look cool in bike shorts - nothing up there either?
  5. trailer ad caught my eye - reminded me of Jaques Loustal or Daniel Torres - looks like a nice break in animation. anyone know more about this?
  6. Wall sounds great with a herd of gospel backup and a slew of strings. Thanks for those. Check it out with just seven guys. Federici really makes up the whole of it. I imagine it was a whole lot better in the house. Van Zandt tried to get that whole sound with Southside on 'This Time It's For Real' but muffled it at best. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=0AnDHaY-evE
  7. Moss back to Vikes ... sure glad I talked my kid outta that Moss shirt a couple years back.
  8. me too ... I do hope this sees the light of a real issue. The two Dick Morrisey Quartet cuts are snappin' right up that Impressed alley. I had heard the name here and there but never had sampled anything under his own lead. Fantastic.
  9. et al(most) and then some Diamanda Galas to really get the party started!
  10. back to the original topic (sorry I got off track)

  13. Unfortunately, reading the comments in the quote, it seems that Universal dropped the ball and hasn't picked it up since 2004.
  14. Impressed 3 ... not gonna happen? please baby please. Just spotted this on the OiR blog. Unfortunately I have never heard any of the music listed here. from a commentor: Track Listing: Collin Bates Trio - Brew London Jazz Four - Song For Hilary Tubby Hayes Quartet - Finky Minky Don Rendell - Euphrates Vic Lewis - Last Minute Bossa Nova Kenny Wheeler - Don the Dreamer Ralph Dollimore - Spikey Dick Morrissey - Sunday Lunch Quincicasm - Trent Park Song Ronnie Stephenson / Kenny Clarke - Caravan Johnny Hawksworth feat. 15. thanks for posting ... have always meant to read it. while trying to find the author I did find this prologue:
  16. well, not so library but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4TZ-dNwE8
  17. Most definitely worth renting. I saw it at a screening held by an agent who represented Esperanza Spalding, lots of her in there, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Glasper is quite the character.
  18. Happened to catch Marsalis' "Swing Symphony" w/ NY Phil premiere on LFLC last night on PBS. I'll bet most expecting the regular might have been tossed a bit by the long progressive lead-in but the groove got going. Monster talents up there. Sherman Irby played beautifully.
  19. Speaking of Fantagraphics publishing vintage work - I've been waiting for "The Antic Cartoon Art of T.S. Sullivant" for years. It was to be released in August and now shows February of 2012. Hurry up already!
  20. Ahhhhh. Meatloaf. sorry http://www.youtube.c...h?v=J866qrtanOI
  21. Brady looks like he's myopic. Must have been the drunk that hit him at 6 AM last week ... too bad Butler didn't have the same luck with Braylon Edwards that the NYPD did.
  22. I guess mine got broken in when I left it in the "locked groove", as yall call it, for a couple days having forgotten to do the manual voodoo. just don't do what I did to a previous table and not play a record for eons - the cartridge innards lost their suppleness after years of stagnation, much like myself. :blush2:
