  1. People keep track of them. 😉 In USA, scarce as hen's teeth. Surprisingly many in Europe. 2024 listings (all Wagner, incl Ring) : Europe US/Canada
  2. Excellent, enjoy! I've seen 2 staged Rings, one in Bayreuth (Barenboim cond, Kupfer design) and the other in NYC (Levine cond, I dunno who designed). Used to have a VHS of the Boulez-Chéreau Ring, watched it quite a few times, but eventually ditched the player and donated the video.
  3. RIP. That Live Fillmore East (2 LP) album was one of the very first I purchased.
  4. Google shows some appearances through mid-2023. I have a CD ("Recursive Tree" John Blum / David Murray / Chad Taylor on Relative Pitch) recorded 12/21/22.
  5. Yeah, I'm being a little unfair. I will check reviews and feedback when Freeman's book is published. I'm more likely to purchase Young...Freeman probably the library route (if available) or perhaps Kindle.
  6. There's another Creative Music Studio Improvisors Orchestra event in Kingston next Sunday 4/28 https://creativemusic.org/events/ Not quite as gaudy a lineup as the last one (3/31), but I enjoyed that one so much that I'm going on the 28th.
  7. Intending to be there. And just announced today: Joe McPhee also at the Lace Mill (Kingston) 5/19. Music and spoken word w. McPhee, Fred Lonborg-Holm and Michael Bisio.
  8. I still read jazz books, but have gotten much more selective, especially regarding titles I have to purchase rather than borrowing via interlibrary loan. I can envision going for a well-written and researched Cecil Taylor bio, but would wait to see some reviews/feedback before buying. I admit to rarely reading liner notes (beyond a cursory scan) any more.
  9. Might be a generational / old fart thing on my part, but if the Young book can be counted on to appear I'll pass on Freeman.
  10. Sorry, I was referring to my Belgian classical purchase. I checked (my most likely suspects: DMG, Squidco, DG and Forced Exposure) yesterday and did not find any US dealers stocking the Ahmed box. Although Dusty Groove showed an upcoming 2-LP set on Astral Spirits (iirc) that might be a subset of the box.
  11. Me too. I put one in my cart to check shipping costs and was pleasantly surprised. Second time it's happened recently: I bought some CDs direct from Graindelavoix (classical vocal ensemble) in Belgium and US postage was also reasonable. The package was cheaper than it would've been buying from US dealers. 👍
  12. Based on the bandcamp site quoting price in Swedish Krona (SEK), I assume Sweden. I initially stopped there, BUT on review the shipping fee is actually quite reasonable, although I expect the effective exchange rate (net of credit card or Paypal surcharge) to be less favorable than quoted: "that’s $45.69 USD, plus $9.59 shipping for United States."
