  1. Other than the obvious political implications, was there some reason dude was banned?
  2. Does anyone have an update on other potential Mosaics that are running-low?
  3. I wrote about this infamous case in a paper last year. Authorized the segregation of Japanese-Americans during the Second World War. One of the more infamous decisions the Supreme Court has rendered. Ranks right up there with Dred Scott Case.
  4. I'll stick to my assessment. I suppose I'd have to listen to this one again when I go through a Joe Henderson phase. Right now, Joe just isn't vibing for me.
  5. Well, you know...The Vatican has never really been known to do things responsibly. It wouldn't at all surprise me if they adopted a wait-and-see approach with this situation.
  6. I'm not sure this is such a stupid question when you consider the process involved with appointing a new pope.
  7. I agree with Shane that "My People..." is an underwhelming date. That said I really do enjoy Roach's effort on the Ike Quebec dates. Of course, it could be that it is Quebec's playing elevates the level of everyone elses on those two sessions. Overall, Roach's BN dates are a mixed bag for me. I find "Down to Earth" and "Mo' Greens" to be excellent, "Good Move" average to above-average, and "Brown Sugar" to be below-average. I clearly do not prefer Joe Henderson in an organ setting.
  8. Great news, Al! Do any of your duties involve trading? You're awfully good at that! No, but it does involve negotiating with insurance brokers.
  9. Good luck, Dan! I also recently started a new career as a Health and Dental Plan Coordinator at the University of Toronto. Pay is average, but the benefits are great! It also allows me to operate a $1.1 million operation as I see fit.
  10. Here's my vote: "The Complete Sixties Blue Note Sessions"
  11. I still use cheap-cds.com, but I find that they are out of stock on many titles. Prices, however, are "cheap" as implied.
  12. Wow...I wasn't aware Canadians should take all the blame for this problem. Seals, afterall, do exist in Alaska, correct? And surely, we have AMERICAN poachers doing the exact same thing, correct?
  13. Can someone please explain to me the concept of being "banned"? Can't anyone who gets banned simply log onto a public computer and create a phony account under an assumed name and repost on the board? The reason I ask is I'm seriously thinking about a breaking a piece of my foot off in Conn500's ass and stealing all the discs that he doesn't listen too (which is nearly 75% of his entire collection), but I want to know how far I can take it!?!?
  14. OOP CTI CD...pretty rare overall. If anyone is interested, maybe we can work something out.
  15. "Mo' Greens, Please" is hardly mediocre! Compared to his other output, I would put it as his best overall album, although I think his playing on any of the Ike Quebec discs is much better. Hiroshi Tanno has it for 2500 Yen. What are you waiting for!?!?!
  16. I'll take the Shank/Cooper... I'd like to offer some classic soul.... Otis Redding "Best of".
  17. If you haven't already....Adams/Byrd, Parlan, Paul Chambers Select, or J.J.!
  18. I'm actually looking forward to getting the "Freelance" box much more than the Prestige box. A fellow board member has these on hold until my tax return comes next week. Boy, I am looking forward to getting into these boxes. Please discuss more.
  19. Paul set the tone by offering a TOCJ. This is thread is for high-rollers only!
  20. My offer is kind of weak, but I just found a CD ONLY copy of "Soultrane." No art work, just the disc. At least you can afford to let the kids play frisbie with this one in the car. Any takers?
