  1. I see that Berkshire Record Outlet has the United Archives 13-disc Miles Davis live recordings 1948-1957 for $38.87. Davis box
  2. I have the Japanese cd reissue, so I can confirm its existence. Don't remember when, where, or how much.
  3. I'm way too young to have seen James P., but I will certainly look forward to the new edition of Brown's excellent biography.
  4. Another vote for BeeHive. I also collect Chazz (piano oriented - a lot of Ralph Sutton, for instance) Blue Angel Jazz Club Onyx Meritt Boris Rose labels (My tastes are perhaps chronologically a little older than a lot of the members here.) Pete
  5. I'm looking forward to this one (when finances allow). I have a close friend who was at the Ephrata PA concert - it's the next town over from where I live.
  6. ahhhh crap. I don't have it. I like the players on it, but has anyone heard it? Been diggin' it? Nothing spectacular, but nice. It's always good to hear Cohn and Kamuca. Yeah... agreed. But both have made better sessions, too. I love the arrangement of "Blue Skies" on this cd.
  7. I have a few cds to offer. Prices include postage in the US. I will ship to other countries at actual cost. Paypal or your check accepted. 8. I had the pleasure of hearing him a few years ago at the Deerhead Inn. A strong piano presence and a lovely, gracious personality. RIP.

  10. I've managed to find all the other volumes over the years. I'll probably buy the Mosaic eventually but the collector in me would like to complete the series.
  11. Would anybody care to sell a copy? Or would you know where I can find one at a reasonable price? Been looking for a loooooooooooong time. Thanks Pete

  13. I need to get rid of some albums. These are mostly duplicates or things I've grown tired of. Condition will be VG+ at minimum. There may be small stickers or markings on covers which I won't bother to enumerate. If it matters, ask first. Media mail in the US: $3 for 1 lp, $4 for 2-4 lps. More that 4 lps ship at cost. Boxes and doubles count as 2. Your check or paypal. I will mail to other countries at cost. If you see anything you want send a PM. I am willing to consider trades - my tastes run to prewar styles for the most part. Send me your tradelist. Thanks for looking. 14. I plan to attend on Saturday. This will be my third year attending. It's a lot of fun. For me the best part is talking to Scott at the Mosaic table (in the past he has had some nice deals!).
  15. Thank you all. It was a happy birthday indeed. I'm blessed.
  16. message sent ref Bud Powell Golden Circle Vol 4 Pete
  17. I found a nice clean copy of the Emily Remler - Larry Coryell lp for $2 last week.
  18. I bought mine from Amazon.uk some years ago. The booklet in my set is in English. I don't recall the country of origin, though.
  19. Of course. Since I have the Masters of Jazz cds I never needed Vol 1 & 2 and thus the omission.
  20. Since I now have the Mosaic boxes I know I won't play these anymore. These are 13 double lps with recordings of both the Orchestra and the Small Groups from 1930 to 1940 in chronological order. Everything is in VG+ condition. The package will weight approximately 13 lbs. I prefer not to break up the set - I'll sell the lot for $70 including media mail in the US (roughly $5 per album + postage). I'll ship to other countries at cost. Paypal or your check. If no response by Sunday 1-29 I think I'll put them on Ebay. Send me a pm if you're interested.
  21. I remember discovering the Louvins by way of the Rounder Records lp reissues back in the 1970s. "When I Stop Dreaming" is one of the greatest recordings ever in country music.
