Just finished a Deschutes Buzzsaw Brown ale and am now brewing a pot of mediocre white tea (I'm trying to get rid of the stuff so I can go buy some much better tea and not feel like I'm wasting what I've got).

I enjoyed my first Brooklyn Brown but I was really wowed by the Brooklyn Oktoberfest I had two years back. That was good stuff.

I hardly ever drink any more (maybe twice a year) but this past Friday was one of those times...I'm definitely not as young as I used to be. Somehow I managed to drink an entire 5th of Bacardi and was still able to walk around and function. But the next morning...whew...felt like I had been drinking battery acid all night. :bad:

I would say that I'd wait another six months before I drink again...but with my birthday coming up in 3 weeks I doubt I can hold myself to that. :g

you ever have this japanese hitachino nest beer? nice packaging. cute bird. tastes pretty good.

and now on to a new bottle of el dorado 12 year rum. good stuff. smooth sippin'.

Yes, the Hitachino white is quite good but also crazy expensive. The red rice ale they make is ok but strange. I sometimes see the Japanese Classic Ale in stores and may pick one up after I've tried a bunch of other stuff.

The recipe for Rogue Chocolate Stout was created several years ago for export to Japan. The exported twelve ounce Chocolate Bear Beer bottle label is in Kanji and features a teddy bear with a pink heart on his belly. Chocolate Stout was released for Valentine's Day in 2001 in a twenty-two ounce bottle for the US market. The label features a Roguester (Sebbie Buhler) on the label. The bottled of Chocolate Stout is available on a very limited basis in the US, so get it while you can!

Hedonistic! Ebony in color with a rich creamy head. The mellow flavor of oats, chocolate malts, and real chocolate are balanced perfectly with the right amount of hops for a bittersweet finish. Chocolate Stout is brewed with 10 ingredients: Northwest Harrington and Klages, Crystal 135-165 and Beeston Chocolate Malts, Cascade Hops, Rolled Oats and Roasted Barley, Natural Chocolate Flavor, Free Range Coastal Waters and PacMan Yeast. Chocolate Stout is available year-round only in the classic 22-ounce bottle and on draft.

Measurements: 15 degrees Plato, IBU 69, Apparent Attenuation 77, Lovibond 135 degrees.

No Chemicals, Additives, or Preservatives
