I told you guys about a session I play a hammond b3 organ on last year. Well the guy called me up the other day, told me they put the single on a 45, got a label, and it's going to be sold in stores! This is a pretty nice break! It's selling on ebay. Here's the link. Black Cat 45

Listen to what plays automatically at the link, people. I mean that shit's even crazier (rhythmically, speaking) than this!!!...

Great stuff. However, I think the polyrhythms only kick in if you accidentally play both clips at once, which happened first time I tried...Otherwise first is funky, second almost reggae, but with a Meters thing...

Every time the page loads for me, BOTH clips play at the same time - automatically.

I did listen to each separately (and they're both cool), but --- DAMN --- together, that's one beautiful fucked up mess!!! :rlol

I hear a sample from a Meters track in the mix ..... a little weird, man!

That's the Meters track Cardova mixed in, thus the polyrhythms - without this overdubbed sample it wouldn't be so thrilling. I find it a liitle uncoordinated - somehow goes nowhere - or is the clip on ebay just a messed up excerpt? Sounds really weird!

I can't listen to the samples, but the question is, do the Meters know their "on a record?"

Maybe under the right dj's hands. I just listened. It only really synches up nicely for about 5 or 10 seconds before falling apart. A dj could sustain that OTC vibe for while though.

A mess indeed - same here. I will try rockefeller's links.

I like the sample from that second track, sounds like a medley of the Meters' Cardova and a Lee Perry dub reggae tune I have on a compilation somewhere.

That helped - rather short samples, really too short to make a judgement, but somehow I have the impression that on the Meters original it sounded much looser. They're impossible to replicate.

It's not a sample, you played it yourself, so you deserve a compliment, but from that short excerpt I cannot see if there's much more happening.
