Yeah, but do friendlies count? I doubt that all the players take them seriously.

Maybe England can take comfort from WC winners Spain's 0-4 defeat against Portugal in Lisbon.

Spain's worst defeat in the past 47 years

I didn’t believe Arsenal will lose today. Tottenham rightly won and I think Mr. Redknapp is doing an excellent job.

Full time: Arsenal 2, Tottenham Hotspur 3 (2-0 at half-time)

Arsenal were excellent in the first half, Spurs in the second. Van der Vaart made the difference in the second half. Great game.

My son got up at 7:30 AM on a Saturday in the US to watch this game.. That is a miracle in by book.

Horrible 4 days for Arsenal, after dropping a lead against Tottenham, today in what should have been a PK in their favour turns into a booking and next thing they allow two goals and will have to work in the last game to earn a qualification.

Finally the Gunners are able to prevail, should have been easier than it was.

What a beautiful game that Barca-Real was

Messi did not score but he was there as a total team player whose actions proved decisive for two of those five goals.

What a team :P What a player :P

Interesting that Putin wasn't sweating over all the last-minute histrionics over the past few days.

Hmmm...

I am disappointed for England.

Don't be. Saves blowing a whole wad of money fur dubious benefit. Let the mafiosi pay and the rest of us watch the in-match pitched battles in comfort for free in HD. :D

The project management of the Russia total country rail/road infrastructure upgrade programme should be interesting, to say the least.

Money talks at FIFA :bad:

I hope the air cond breaks down in Qatar and Blatter and the backhander boys are stuck in a sweat box for hours on end.

And lets hope they enforce in full the 'dry' licensing laws for the duration.

Here's the draw for the Champions League

Shakhtar Donetsk-AS Rome

Tottenham-AC Milan

Schalke 04-Valence

Bayern Munich-Inter Milan

Real Madrid-Olympique Lyonnais

FC Barcelone-Arsenal

Manchester United-Olympique de Marseille

Chelsea-FC Copenhague

Barça and Arsenal are again put together, the other marquee matchup is Bayern-Inter, the French sides will have famous visitors, anybody thinks that Lyon might upset Madrid ? Chelsea has the easiest draw.
