Really? You just made my day Clifford! That’s great news. I was seriously considering saving up money to buy an original in the end. Are you able to give a little more details or not (when?, label?) 😇

One of my favorites by Jarrett's "American Quartet."

Excellent 1979 live date with superior repertoire. Highly recommended if you're into this sort of thing.

Susannah McCorkle “Sabia” Concord cd Bass – Dennis Irwin Drums – Duduka Fonseca Guitar – Emily Remler Percussion – Café Piano, Arranged By – Lee Musiker Tenor Saxophone – Scott Hamilton A great tour of Brazilian material. One of my favorite Jobim songs is here, "Song of the Sabia" I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back That my place is there And there it will always be There, where I can hear the Song of the Sabia I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back I will lie in the shadow of a palm That's no longer there And pick a flower that doesn't grow And maybe someone's love will speak the night The lonely unwanted light That may bring me to the new day I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back They won't be in vain, all the plans I made To deceive myself All the rules I made just to lose myself All the love I made to forget myself Those mistakes I made just to find myself I'll go back, I know now that I'll go back That my place is there And there it will always be, there where I can hear the Song of the Sabia Of the Sabia

What live music are you going to see tonight?
kh1958 replied to mikeweil's topic in Live Shows & Festivals
Last Thursday night, Mike LeDonne Trio at Blues Alley. Friday night: First, Henry Threadgill, Vijay Iyer and Dafnis Prieto at 92ndNY. Second, Artemis at Birdland. Saturday night: Dave Holland/Chris Potter/Brian Blade at Dizzy's (Last minute substitutions for Azar Lawrence, who cancelled due to illness). Second, Tyshawn Sorey Trio (Aaron Diehl and Harish Raghovan) at the Village Vanguard. The indisputable best of this series of concerts were the Henry Threadgill concert and Tyshawn Sorey at the VV. Both were fantastic. -
I’m starting my listening with “Roxy Coss”–her self-titled self-released frist cd. Bass – Kellen Harrison Composed By – Roxy Coss Design – Mary Coss Drums, Percussion – Shawn Baltazor Guitar – Ryan Brennan Piano, Electric Piano – Justin Kauflin Producer – Roxy Coss Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone, Flute – Roxy Coss Trumpet, Flugelhorn – Kate Miller

I've been revisiting Alvin Fielder's A Measure of Vision (Dennis González, Chris Parker, Aaron González, Stefan González) recently and think it's one of the label's finest.

Great sleeve art...wait I get the "8"; four seasons + concertos. 4 +4=8 🤯 -
My wife bought seats for the season at Severance Hall, this dude blew us away back in October: Piano: Daniil Trifonov. Program: Brahms, Franz Welser-Möst, conductor. We still talk about it today. Can't wait, next is Mozart's Jupiter Symphony in January, same conductor.

One of the best guitarists ever Like Randy Rhodes/Jimmy Paige/Tony Iommi good, that good. And in Jazz.... Like this dude Tony Iommi good: He even cites all the Pacific Jazz records he listened to including Jim Hall and Joe Pass.
