  1. Interesting changes in the band - Hawkins to Webster to Berry, Rex Stewart to Red Allen to Roy Eldridge, etc.

  12. When I went to work at Delmark/Jazz Record Mart in 1966 Bob Koester claimed Sam Charters (producer of the Vanguard set) stole his "little brown book" to get all the musicians' phone numbers.

  14. I became familiar with the music of Webern via the Robert Craft set recorded in the '50s. The old box is long gone and I was delighted to discover this reissue now available.
