  1. That material and those colors would make "rad" prom dresses back in the day.
  2. In 1992 I got a little hot rod know and a Nissan Sentra SE-R. Afterbreaking it in I took it out with a friend and "topped out" at 128 mph. A couple of months later our son asked to use the car to run an errand, came back with a huge grin on his face and said "130 mph, good goin' Dad"!
  3. There's a mental image I'll have a tough time shaking.
  4. When I lived in Boston I frequently saw a big BMW with "PU5SY" plates.
  5. I remember the news of his death as if it was last year. Damn, time does fly. More than happy I had a few "live" experiences - "classic" quartet, quartet + Shepp and the final quintet.
  6. Nothing wrong with the original. FWIW, "Piano Starts Here" ('70s lp and later cd) includes 4 (important) studio recordings from 1933. No mention of them. Marketing hucksters muck around the serious music world.
  7. My dream is a series between my 2 favorite teams - Red Sox/Cubs. My sentiments are for the Cubs but I don't think so............ Good luck Dan.
  8. Once again Cubs win and Brewers lose. Life is good.
  9. If you love Desmond check out the early quartet stuff on Fantasy (both live and studio). These are my favorites. The early Columbia material has not been reissued properly.
  10. I hope to be there for the whole deal. If it completely sucks, I still win.
  11. "THE ENGINES is a new quartet featuring: Jeb Bishop - trombone Dave Rempis - reeds Nate McBride - bass Tim Daisy - drums This self titled disc is a set of wonderful fluid compositions (two each by the members of the group) recorded in Chicago, in November 2006. The disc is set off by tight and cohesive group interaction. Another high water mark for the carriers of all concerned and proof that forward thinking jazz still thrives in the heartland. 1. Riser (McBride) 2. Jet Lag (Bishop) 3. Careful (Daisy) 4. Mish Mumkin (Rempis) 5. Rewind (Bishop) 6. Backend Cover (Rempis) 7. Four Broken Plates (Daisy) 8. Mash Tun (McBride)"
  12. Coming in a few months is a Rosolino/Carl Fontana live date on Uptown. It was recorded in Vancouver, August '78.
  13. Dubbed from Boris Rose lps of some tv shows. Great music, questionable sound.
  14. As usual, I blame Dick Cheney. 9/16/07
  15. Forever her name will now be Joyce Hatto-Hoax. Certainly not what the hubby had in mind.
  16. Sounds like some version of a "Playboy profile".
  17. Some sort of stuffed eggplant.
  18. Serious answer. My mother-in-law's cd player scratched up a couple of my discs on a holiday visit. Your player might be the reason.
  19. Sheb Woolly Monty Woolly Monty Waters
  20. That's the first cover. The one I bought around 1961 was white with green, red and black accents. Miles photo was on it too.
  21. Start with the Ping singles (45 or 78).
  22. Morris Levy Oscar Goodstein Pee Wee Marquette
  23. Seems you are on top of this stuff Georgia.
