Not sure why we need to stratify our musical tastes. I get fine stimulation from a number of directions. Music (aka organised sound) is the thing.

Sounds like she was asked a question, and answered it matter-of-factly. Of course, it might be different if she had called a press conference just to make that announcement. I heard that story too but am cynical enough to think it could have been a "plant".

IMHO the best Bartok and the rest are dandy. I love this set. He was one crazy mf. I listened to the Bartok Solo Violin Sonata this afternoon. To my (admitedly uneducated) ears, he could really wail. I kept it in mind and ordered it because of an old post of yours about the Sibelius Violin Concerto. Glad I remembered. LISTEN TO THE BARTOK CONCERTO!
