  1. Kinda cute to see Clem throwing a few crumbs Lazaro's way.
  2. Art Van Damme Artie Johnson Artie Shawski
  3. Can't be! Brownie is ageless and I'm a couple of years younger.
  4. Paul Rutherford / Paul Lovens Duo on Po Torch.
  5. If I didn't care about the future, my life would be very different.
  6. Even if the one that looks like Diana Krall gives you a special hug? That seals the deal - my hands are in my pockets. Now, there's a good time!
  7. Not me.
  8. My guess: There will still be a few music "fans" and a fraction of them will be interested in "jazz". Just like now.
  9. So, you admit you misled readers...... Let's stop this shit. You know what I meant.
  10. FWIW, I didn't "quote" him. I simply pointed out he typed something that could/would be misunderstood in context.
  11. Up.
  12. Let's all scream together "FIRE SALE!".
  13. You are better off. Think of the money you saved 'cause you can't remember the things you "had to own".
  14. the term used was "condition upgrades" For some reason Couw is on my case. I feel for you... Watch where you put those hands Jaws. Also watch where you put those jaws Hans.
  15. the term used was "condition upgrades" For some reason Couw is on my case.
  16. Dumpy, if I can call you that , the Jarman thread was about recommendations and Cliffie said he dumped the Delmarks because they needed sonic upgrades - no mention of format and I took exception since I had produced both reissues and had done a "sonic upgrade" in the past few months. Now he says he's talking about the condition of his vinyl purchases - a very different thing than the impression left on the thread. Why are you busting my balls here?
  17. Nope. The program is news to me. Shipton interviewed me a few years ago. I wonder what I said.
  18. You really don't want that.
  19. Heard her interviewed on the radio last weekend. We should all send her hammers.
  20. Was this in the vinyl thread? If so, my mistake.
  21. Guess you never created anything. Oh, you did? When was that? Sorry, you don't own it anymore. You can buy 2 acres in Utah, leave them to your children, they can leave them to their children and this shit can go on forever. I create a musical masterpiece (novel, symphony, blues, poem, etc) and at some point the friggin' government can take my rights and give it to "everyone". Why didn't I buy 2 acres in Utah?
  22. FWIW, I'm now awaiting the Kansas jazz tome from KW.
  23. Thanks for that. I for one enjoy Ross's writings. He's quite informal in the best way -- kinda like Kevin Whitehead. And I like the low cringe quotient in his writings compared to other cultural critics. I've thrown New Dutch Swing at the wall more than twice... It bounced back, didn't it?
  24. If you need reminding, you said "Hit-or-miss, like anybody else. I used to have the early Delmarks and at least one Black Saint, all of which I sold (the Delmarks needed condition upgrades that never actually happened). I've retained the double-vinyl duo with Don Moye on India Navigation, which I like." Please don't make me tell you about reality again. Accept my apology for being there when it happened.
