  1. Up. Where are all those Monk experts?
  2. Duke Snyder Gil Hodges Carl Erskine
  3. So does this mean I wasted my time rummaging thru the fridge? Crap, I coulda' been drinking.
  4. Okay that's the first one of these that made me laugh out loud. Also watched the original clip which came up right after it - only slightly better. Still, these things make me want to put away the guitar forever - just in case. Those of us surviving the last half of the '60s saw crap like this all the time.
  5. This made me check my fridge!
  6. Jim's working way too hard to not be here.
  7. A few "really tight shorts" around here.
  8. Mike Huckabee MIckey Hammer MC Hammer
  9. That's debatable. Plus most (not all) of BN mono is simple stereo fold downs. You're right, but the fold down process improves the mixes considerably. I'm convinced RVG set his levels for an optimum mono balance. Have you worked with Rudy?
  10. Does this mean Tony can't come back as Chaney? You can count on me for another stupid question.
  11. What have you done with the original Kevin Bresnahan?
  12. Anyone out there own a 16 rpm Prestige original?
  13. Wrong. Then who/what? Bob would want to know... Not sure who they are. Just know it's not NHOP and Tete. Met both on a few occasions and it ain't them. Met Alex only once but the fleeting shots don't look like him either.
  14. Wrong.
  15. Danni Ashe Arthur Ashe Arthur Godfrey
  16. I hear they make good coasters if you tape over the holes.
  17. Don't really understand why folks can't divorce sociology from music/history OR relate the two in a constructive way. Lester Bowie always looked for a way to "work the system" as Bach, Puccini, Verdi, Beethoven, Mozart, etc did before. I do take note of many posts dealing with mid '30s 'til today. There is so much more.
  18. Already too late. It might be possible to get through the words but the ideas will bog you down. Better to go back to arranging the library. I would file by "philosophy type" then by era (or alpha). YMMV.
  19. Here's the spam part: Now in stock - $13 postpaid in North America. Email for reduced rates elsewhere. Paypal and email address is/are/am/be nessarecords@charter.net . Don't forget the recent release by Jim Baker, Mars Williams, Brian Sandstrom and Steve Hunt called "Extraordinary Popular Delusions". Same deal. Full catalog available on request.
  20. The Apple cash extractor is still at work. Guess you folks will pay for the iphone credits.
  21. I lived for a couple of years with a fake Pennsylvania license printed on the back of a check. The "commissioner of public safety" signing the document was named B.S.Really. It got me into the Plugged Nickel which required attendees to be at least 25 to keep the riff raff out. Mr Really allowed me to see Coltrane (twice), Miles, Monk, Wes, JOS, Horace, etc.
