  5. Brunswick still exists. The old pressing plant building still stands in Muskegon, MI. Brunswick sold the building to a moving and storage company. Bowling AND billiard equiipment were/are the products.
  6. Have not seen the book but wonder what "hard Q's" you have.
  7. No, I guess not. Don't know what I'm thinking about. Some Atlantic side, probably with neither Griff nor Gee. Oh well... All those "out of tune saxophonists" begin to blur.
  8. Bought that one, but haven't gottten to it yet. How's Griff? Ernie?

    Dewey Left Town!

First time I heard Dewey in person was with Ornette, Haden and Blackwell. Kinda' hard for him to stand out in that crowd but I remember talking to him (and the other guys) outside the club that night. Go in peace.

  13. Difficult to make a "progressive illness" news.
  14. All Bud/Busch products live by adding sugar to attract the "lame" american customer.
  15. At least one old thread deals with this. Andrew has been ill for a while. I don't have the inclination to hunt but it is not news.
  16. I'm sure Paul's sister is at his bedside with a "spreader".
  17. Big dif between solosits and section players - both valuable, but different. Seen recs of both here. Washington, Carney, Chaloff are tops in my book.

    Dewey Left Town!

Thanks for the link. I knew these guys had feelings for Dewey and went to their site yesterday to find nothing. Gotta get in touch with Ethan.
  19. All my favorites are soundies. Duke, Fats, Basie, Cab, etc.
  20. Some were unhappy about the selections and some bitched about editing done without consultation. I must say at least one was clueless. John McDonough (spelling might be wrong), author of the Hawkins book, claimed ignorance when I bitched about the omission of Hawk's "The Man I Love". He didn't even know the damn recording.
  21. If all else fails, I have a copy. No scanner. Get in touch.
  22. Try McGann, McGann. I see it is available at Amazon.
  23. Most comments about No Noise (Sonic Solutions) and Cedar are broad strokes without understanding they are both "suites" with multiple tasks and different possibilities. Each of the tasks can be controlled like a rheostat. All kinds of possibilities are available. I have used parts of No Noise and Cedar on the same piece of tape.
