  1. Phillip is why I started my company - to record him with Roscoe.
  2. Just relax and wait. Pretty easy to say: If you like them so much, why don't you have 'em?
  3. ..I'm crushed, you know how sensitive I am.... m~
  4. I had purchased your Art Ensemble box there a while back, Chuck. You da man.
  5. Received it today. Don't care what you do.
  6. Too bad Joe didn't extend some offer for his online customers. That's where his future resides, if there is one. I do think it's fine to reward store customers but I have to drive 200 miles to get to one, so I buy online. In fact I made a purchase last night and received shipping confirmation today.
  7. I'd say so. Another 28 minutes by a pretty good trio.
  8. I never knew that. But I always thought the base colour of "Blue John", judging solely by the illustrations on subsequent BJP LPs, would be a bit nearer to the blue on "The way I feel". I was a bit disappointed when I got the LP in '85 or '86, whenever it was. MG Additional problems arose because most BN covers were not 4 color process but printed to Pantone color numbers or custom ink blends. By the time these films were used the industry had move to "process" as the standard and everything had to be converted.
  9. I knew there was a total of 9 but couldn't remember the last one. Thanks. Concerning the colors of the covers, the films had no indication of the intended colors so the EMI art department came up with what you see.
  10. I heard that band 5 days after they recorded "Mademoiselle Mabry". It was at the Plugged Nickel and Chick seemed scared to death. After the gig that night, Miles drove to Gary and got married the next day. He was is a playful mood and offered to break my arm.
  11. IIRC, the highest number with a Miles design would be Mobley's Hi Voltage, BN 84273.
  12. Wasn't the 'Blue John' issued on a DMM ( ) vinyl back in the early 1990s? I have this on the CD but I'm sure I've also seen the vinyl. Correct.
  13. I wasn't suggesting that he did. I was basically responding to Chuck's comment (and I'll add that there could very well be another Japanese cover that I'm unaware of...). That's the one I think sucks.
  14. Yes, I just remembered it.
  15. No individual K2s if this stuff issued here. Not sure about Japan. All the material including the few alternates is available as regular OJC issues.
  16. I hear ya. Yeah, but they still had shots of those puuurrrttttyyy models to use. Actually, I was under the impression that Lush Life had been issued originally at the time. Was that actually a "rainbow" LP the first time it came out? First issue was a King pressing in Japan. It had a terrible generic cover.
  17. Yes to your first question. Michael found the printing films (negatives) for those covers. The Parlan was coupled with an unissued Ervin in the '70s but it was indeed a Parlan date.
  18. Donaldson Lush Life Turrentine Comin' Your Way Parlan Happy Frame of Mind and the Parker IS a Miles cover
  19. NYC5 and Dolphy for starters.
  20. We must watch different channels.
  21. Too much money for too much material in my mind.
  22. Cable slave here 'cause of CSPAN and MSNBC but the latter has driven me away with wall to wall coverage of the latest story (refuse to name it). The POTUS gave an incoherent press conference yesterday and they concentrated on the doofus being imported to Boulder. Do not watch "network" series. Sick of "professional" sports and don't trust "amateur" sports.
  23. Sorry to hear that.
