  1. I hear ya. Yeah, but they still had shots of those puuurrrttttyyy models to use. Actually, I was under the impression that Lush Life had been issued originally at the time. Was that actually a "rainbow" LP the first time it came out? First issue was a King pressing in Japan. It had a terrible generic cover.
  2. Yes to your first question. Michael found the printing films (negatives) for those covers. The Parlan was coupled with an unissued Ervin in the '70s but it was indeed a Parlan date.
  3. Donaldson Lush Life Turrentine Comin' Your Way Parlan Happy Frame of Mind and the Parker IS a Miles cover
  4. NYC5 and Dolphy for starters.
  5. We must watch different channels.
  6. Too much money for too much material in my mind.
  7. Cable slave here 'cause of CSPAN and MSNBC but the latter has driven me away with wall to wall coverage of the latest story (refuse to name it). The POTUS gave an incoherent press conference yesterday and they concentrated on the doofus being imported to Boulder. Do not watch "network" series. Sick of "professional" sports and don't trust "amateur" sports.
  8. Sorry to hear that.
  9. It sucks from every direction.
  10. DH has been out of my loop for a long time. He went "soft" a while back.
  11. EVERYBODY - send me your employer's email address.
  12. You should get the "complete Prestige recordings" by Mr Monk. K2 reissues of all his Prestige recordings including the full Bags Groove session. Keep the cd you have for the session with Rollins.
  13. The original title was to be "Change". I say let that stand.
  14. From the timings I'd say they edited the intro.
  15. Brown roach clip, brown roach clip. That seems to ring some sort of bell.
  16. I'm waiting for the story of Bunny and Hemp.
  17. I see this new set is in "stereo". Bout time.
  18. Funny how this thread seems to reflect the poster's prejudices/favorites and ignores the actual quality of the playing. To me most of the messages ignore the actual "mastery of the instrument".
  19. I won't live that long and if you do you won't know what it's all about. Maybe hundreds of thousands of folks need to die first.
  20. Just wanna say some amazing responses were missed with the entry of Mike Lipskin.
  21. Can I help filling in the details?
  22. A fan of Mr Loaf raises his hand.
  23. Hope to catch you at Schulers. Beer after?
  24. Nailed is not exactly the word I would select.
