okay, A/B - it's yours.
if folks are crying foul i'll dig through the crates at home to see what else i can come up with...
BTW, let me remind you that this is a double-disc set you're in for.

okay, couw...
i will indeed offer something up later this afternoon/early evening, so do stay tuned.
in fact, why don't i do it now.
the first to PM me receives the charles lloyd / billy higgins set, which way is east...
in 3 weeks time i'll be seeing the quartet for the 3rd time...
their telepathy and empathy is simply amazing.
although until this record, i'd not valued the trio as i do now.
enjoy!

hiya,
i'm just getting through my second listen of this gem and i thoroughly recommend it. interesting takes include wayne shorter's plaza real and bjork's hyperballad although the originals are pretty tasty, too.
cheers,
-e-
...but you probably like trompeta toccata?

ps: as for me, my favorite pseudo-obscure titles are two grant green gems originally released via the king label in japan (but now available in the complete sonny clark quartet sessions domestically): nigeria and remembering grant green.

the tete cover is *tasty*. go for it with slight variations on the colouring.
additionally, as these are compact discs we're talking about one should use disc IMHO...

speaking of collectibles, here's something that puzzles me...
in november i picked up a few rhino reissues in the EU that weren't/aren't available here in north america (more soul and ray charles presents fathead were two...). the liners are by senior dorn and the sound is *delicious* atlantic dowd. now these titles are available from collectibles.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm,

you definitely need this one and i'd be more than happy to supply a temporary burn until the real thing comes along...
also, be on the lookout for their post-elvin release, s'wonderful.
the outtakes disc that reiner refers to is titled collaboration.
cheers,

my set just landed this morning (and boy are its arms tired...).
i decided to start with the omega stereo sessions.
is it me or is carl perkins piano as distorted as it wants to be? mercy.
excellent material and playing by all, of course.
someone mentioned owning the original omega reel to reels previously.
ever notice the aforementioned distortion?

i *guarantee* you there's going to be a huge improvement. that collection was, IMHO, bunko in terms of fidelity...
so this is out today (or yesterday)?
